“For It Is In Giving That We Receive.”

Calvary Episcopal Preparatory has grown from a single kindergarten class in 1956 to a Prek3 through 12th-grade international school thanks to decades of generosity from parents , alumni, faculty, and friends. The community’s passion and dedication are crucial for developing programs, retaining excellent faculty, upgrading technology, and maintaining facilities. As an independent school in Richmond, TX, Calvary relies on tuition as its primary revenue source but this alone cannot cover the cost of education. Therefore, charitable school donations are essential to help students reach their full potential. Unlike state and federal schools, Calvary operates without government funding, so charitable gifts are the lifeblood that keeps the school running smoothly.

CEP appreciates donations of any amount!

Alumni

Calvary began with 23 kindergarten students in 1956, driven by a vision, mission, and commitment to establish a leading Christian-based school in Fort Bend County. Over the years, Calvary Episcopal Preparatory has been molded and influenced by students, board members, church members, staff, parents, and community members, ultimately shaping it into the esteemed Pre-K through 12th-grade international school it is today. Despite this growth and evolution, Calvary remains committed to the values and vision established in 1956. Our goal is for Calvary Alumni to network with each other, stay informed about the most recent Calvary Prep news, and launch alumni events. Your involvement is crucial to our success in achieving this goal.

Annual Giving Campaign

If Calvary Episcopal Preparatory meets its Annual Giving Campaign objective, it can sustain and expand vital programs, maintain competitive salaries for faculty, and meet its operating budget. Instead of raising tuition fees, this can be achieved through tax-deductible donations. The Annual Giving Campaign is supported by parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, the school board, and the community. We are grateful for previous donations and urge continued support for Calvary.

Donation FAQs

Why should I donate?

Every dollar you contribute to the Annual Giving Campaign benefits Calvary Episcopal Preparatory’s students. Your donation helps keep tuition fees low, enabling more families to enroll their children. In addition, foundations look at the percentage of donor participation before deciding to fund a school. Furthermore, your gift is tax-deductible.

Why must money be raised in addition to tuition?

Tuition fees do not cover the cost of educating students fully. Our operating expenses exceed tuition by $1,880 per student, meaning each student receives a $1,880 scholarship through the Annual Giving Campaign. With donations to the Annual Giving Campaign, we can significantly impact the programs offered to students and keep the Calvary tradition strong.

Why not increase tuition fees to cover the cost of educating students?

Raising tuition would have two negative effects. Firstly, the cost of educating a child would fall entirely on the parents, which would exclude many families from joining the Calvary community. The Annual Giving Campaign allows support from the community, grandparents, and alumni to bridge the gap. Secondly, all gifts to the Annual Giving Campaign are tax-deductible, while tuition fees are not.

What does the Annual Giving Campaign fund?

All donations to the Annual Giving Campaign go towards the operating budget, which impacts every aspect of your child’s education. Contributions to the campaign enhance the curriculum, upgrade technology, fund faculty professional development, and ensure student safety and security.

Why does participation matter?

Foundations and community donors frequently inquire about the number of parents who donate to the Annual Giving Campaign. A high percentage of participation demonstrates a strong commitment from our families and, in turn, increases the potential for external donations. This makes your donation even more impactful!

How do I maximize my donation?

Matching gifts is an excellent way to double or even triple your donation dollars to Calvary through your employer. Many businesses allocate a certain amount of funds for donations and prefer to contribute to educational institutions and charities in which their employees are actively involved. You can contact your human resources department to learn more about obtaining a Matching Gift from your company. Generally, they will provide you with a form to fill out, which you will send back, and then they will send the school a check. It’s that simple!
